FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State volleyball team endured a 3-0 setback to Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponent Mary Washington Friday night at the Anderson Center.
The loss broke a streak of two consecutive wins for the Bobcats, who lost in set scores of 19-25, 23-25 and 17-25.
Frostburg (15-9, 3-3) moves to .500 in conference play while Mary Washington improves to 14-8 overall and 4-2 in league play.
Senior Zoe Harris led the way with eight kills while classmate Naya Cheatem smacked six and sophomore Biamba Tshitenge had five. Senior setter Madelyn Torres handed out 21 assists on the evening while senior Lindsey Scepura had 33 digs.
In addition to her six kills, Cheatem led the team with a .208 hitting percentage.
Overall, the Bobcats posted 21 kills, 23 assists, four service aces and 73 digs.
Frostburg returns to the court tomorrow for a conference road match against No. 23 Christopher Newport at 1:00 p.m.
