FROSTBURG, Md. – Shenandoah scored two goals inside the final five minutes of the second half to escape Bobcat Stadium with a 2-0 victory over Frostburg, Sunday afternoon.

The contest was evenly matched as both teams attempted 13 shots, including an identical seven and six in the first and second halves, respectively.
After a scoreless first period, the Bobcats (3-8) turned up the pressure in the second half as they tried to get on the scoreboard.
Junior Sam Schaffer took the hosts' first shot in the second period 10 minutes in that caused Hornet keeper Isabella Morande to make a diving stop.
Ten minutes later, juniors Holly Van Wie and Ashleigh Myers both had shots kicked free of the net by Morande.
At 65:26, Natalie Fyock smacked a backhanded shot up in the air and over Bobcat keeper Nicole Leighty for a 1-0 lead. Just over three minutes later, Morgan Payne redirected a shot from Taylor Hayes that handed the visitors a 2-0 cushion with just 2:28 to play.
Morande finished with nine saves in the win for SU (6-4), while Leighty notched four saves. Junior Savannah Neubert saved a shot from going in the net early in the second half off an attempt from Megan Stevens. It was her third defensive save in the last four games.
Frostburg came out firing in the opening half of play. Senior Ivy Meissner forced a save from Morande at 6:41 and her rebound was corralled by junior Molly Pickard, whose shot was kicked away by Payne.
Later in the stanza, Pickard had three-straight shots poked away by Morande. Pickard led the Bobcats with four shots on goal, while Van Wie had three shots and two on frame.
Frostburg returns to the field on Wednesday when it hosts Washington & Jefferson at 5:00 pm.
