Later in the second half, junior Christopher Coston hit a free throw with just under six minutes to play that pulled FSU to within nine, 63-54. He also hit layups at 5:26 and 4:45 that kept Frostburg within nine at 65-56 and 67-58, respectively.
Salisbury answered with a quick 7-0 run that extended its lead to 75-58 with just 3:25 to play.
Freshman Lawrence Pettis, Jr. closed out regulation for Frostburg with a pair of layups to make the final score, 81-65.
Michael led the way in the stat sheet with 20 points on 10-of-19 shooting. Junior Darren Campbell contributed a career-high 14, while classmate Zachary Coalmon grabbed 10 rebounds and posted five blocks.
Campbell opened the game with Frostburg's first nine points. He hit a three-pointer at 18:19 and again at 16:58. At 13:43, he was fouled while shooting a three-pointer and he connected on all three foul shots to pull the Bobcats to within 22-9. FSU trimmed its deficit to 10 points late in the first half and trailed 42-26 at intermission.
For the Sea Gulls, Justin Witmer finished with 18 points, while Gordon Jeter had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
