BALTIMORE, Md. – The Frostburg State men's soccer squad dropped a non-conference road contest at Johns Hopkins, Wednesday.
After a scoreless first half that featured 17 combined shots, JHU (2-0-2) found the net in the 58
th and 89th minutes to earn the victory.
Arden Chew knocked home a header for a 1-0 cushion at 57:05, while Samy Ramadane connected on a shot near the left post for the second goal.
Frostburg (1-2) senior Hendrick de Wit had a shot saved by Hopkins keeper Bryan See in the 25
th minute, while 45 seconds before halftime, sophomore Carvell Akuffo had a shot saved by See as well.
In the second half, freshman Matt Morris hit a shot wide of the net at 57:47 and four seconds later, his next shot was saved by See. The Bobcats finished the contest with five shots, while the Blue Jays attempted 19.
Bobcat keeper Hassan Mostafa kept Frostburg in the game with seven saves, including five in the opening stanza. His seven saves match a season-high.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday when they travel to at 5:30 pm.
