Bowen Leads Bobcats In 4-0 Win Against Randolph-Macon

FROSTBURG, Md. – Senior midfielder Taylor Bowen scored three times in Frostburg's 4-0 win against Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium. Bowen scored the final three goals of the game in what proved to be the Bobcats highest scoring output of the young season.

Frostburg (1-1) held a decisive edge in shots over Randolph-Macon (1-3), 30-4, and in penalty corners, 8-5.
 
Sophomore Holly Van Wie opened the scoring in the 4th minute with her first goal of the season. Senior Jacquelyn Nava earned the assist on the Bobcats' first tally.
 
Frostburg looked to add to the early lead but squandered three penalty corner chances in a row.
 
Bowen tallied her first goal of the season in the 20th minute to put Frostburg up 2-0. Bowen converted again in the 23rd minute to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead heading into the half.
 
Frostburg dictated play in the second half and Taylor Bowen scored the final goal of the game in the 65th minute. Cara Morrell had an assist on the Bobcats fourth goal.
 
Frostburg will take the field again tomorrow at Bobcat Stadium in the Championship Game of the FSU Tournament at 1:00 p.m.
 
In the neutral site game, Delaware Valley defeated Ohio Wesleyan, 1-0, and will advance to the Championship Game against Frostburg State.
