SALISBURY, Md. – Junior Emani Byrd led the Bobcats with a goal and an assist as the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team fell at No. 4 Salisbury, 18-3, Saturday afternoon.
The Sea Gulls (11-1, 5-0 Capital Athletic Conference) opened the first half with four-straight goals, including two on extra-man opportunities following Frostburg yellow cards.
Freshman Morgan Cavey got the Bobcats (4-6, 0-4 CAC) on the board at 18:59 on a pass from Byrd.
The Gulls then took off on a 6-0 run before FSU answered back on a tally from junior Alyssa Barlow to bring the score to 10-2.
Salisbury ended the half on a 3-0 run to lead 13-2.
Byrd took advantage of a Sea Gull yellow card and found the back of the net just 2:25 into the second half, but Salisbury had the next five to seal the victory at 18-3.
Byrd added six caused turnovers, five ground balls and won two draws in the loss. Junior keeper Dylan Teitelbaum had 10 saves and picked up four ground balls.
Megan Wallenhorst led the Sea Gulls with one goal and six assists, while keeper Chelsea Weinstein had five saves in the win.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday, April 6 as they play host to No. 7 York (Pa.) at 7:00 pm.
