FROSTBURG, Md. – Seven different players registered a point and Frostburg outscored Shenandoah 6-0 in the second half for a 14-5 victory in women's lacrosse action, Tuesday.
The duo of juniors Logan Brady and Molly Hart each registered four points and freshman Morgan Cavey added three more as the Bobcats (3-2) rolled to their second win of the season. Both Brady and Molly Hart scored three goals and handed out an assist to finish with four points, while all three of Cavey's points came on goals.
As impressive as the Bobcats were on the offensive end, junior goalkeeper Dylan Teitelbaum notched a career-high 17 saves and finished with a 0.773 save percentage for the contest.
Frostburg started to pull away from the Hornets (2-5) after the visitors knotted things at 2-2 just shy of seven minutes into the opening half.
Molly Hart (18:15) and Brady (14:06) scored back-to-back goals for FSU as the lead improved to 4-2. Abby Zorrilla scored on a free position for SU at 13:36 to narrow the score to 4-3, but Frostburg used a 4-0 scoring jolt to increase its lead to 8-3 with 6:04 showing.
Cavey found the net twice during Frostburg's outburst, while both junior Megan Hart and junior Taylor Mone scored as well.
Shenandoah scored its final two goals of the contest in the closing minutes of the first half to narrow its deficit to 8-5 at intermission.
The second half belonged to the Bobcats as they scored all six goals for the 14-5 final. Junior Alyssa Barlow and Molly Hart each scored twice during the frame for FSU, while Brady and Cavey scored the first two goals of the half.
FSU scooped up 13 ground balls and added 13 draw controls, while causing 10 of SU's 20 turnovers.
Zorrilla finished with two goals to lead the Hornets. Rachel Levy posted 12 saves.
Frostburg travels to Saint Vincent tomorrow for a non-conference tilt at 4:00 pm.
