Bobcats Drop Close CAC Contest At Home

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg rallied from an 11-point second-half deficit but couldn't complete the comeback as it endured a 70-67 loss at home Wednesday to Penn State Harrisburg.

The Lions (4-3, 1-2) hit a layup with 12:45 to play in the second half that put them ahead 51-40 before the Bobcats (1-7, 0-3) started their run.
 
Sophomore Steven Glassbrenner knocked down a three-pointer at 12:02 and at 10:38 sophomore Edwin Cole hit two free throws at the Bobcats pulled to within 51-45.
 
Harrisburg hit back-to-back baskets to push its lead back to 10, 55-45 before Frostburg pulled the score to within single digits the rest of the contest.
 
Junior Zachary Coalmon hit two foul shots at 6:35 as FSU trailed by just three, 57-54. Junior Gregory Gibbs kept the Bobcat deficit at three at 4:47 with a three-pointer.
 
After the Lions pushed it back to four, 69-65, Frostburg missed two free throws at 1:29 before junior Tyler Michael hit two foul shots with 59 showing to pull Frostburg within two, 69-67.
 
PSH connected on a free throw with 27 seconds left and Frostburg had one final chance, but a deep three-pointer caromed off the rim as the final horn sounded.
 
Michael led both teams with 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting. He also contributed three steals and two assists. Cole posted his second double-double in three games as he poured in 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
 
In total the game featured seven tie and seven lead changes. Frostburg led by as many as four on several occasions throughout the game. Harrisburg tried to run away with things in the second by establishing its 11-point lead, its largest of the game before Frostburg's rally.
 
Khalil White posted 16 points to pace Penn State Harrisburg in scoring. Both Jazmon Harris and Lamar Thomas each had 11.
 
The Bobcats hit the road on Saturday when they visit Wesley at 3:00 pm.
