NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior forward Kirsten Rayner and junior guard Sharyce Warren combined for 28 points, but the Frostburg State women's basketball team dropped an 81-51 road contest to No. 11 Christopher Newport Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) play.

th in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) poll, shot 41.7% (30-72) on the afternoon.
Frostburg State (1-6, 0-2) finished the afternoon shooting 29% (20-69) from the field. The Bobcats finished 1-17 (5.9%) from beyond the arc and 10-18 (55.6%) from the foul line.
Rayner tallied her second double-double of the season, finishing the afternoon with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Warren added 10 points, seven steals and three assists.
Sophomore guard Megan Kelly had seven points and hit the lone three-point field goal for the Bobcats.
Junior forward Alexis Welch had six points, including the first basket of the game, which gave the Bobcats an early 2-0 advantage.
CNU's Sam Porter scored a game-high 20 points and added nine steals and seven rebounds in 24 minutes of action. Two other players reached double figures in scoring for the Captains.
The Bobcats finished the day with 14 steals and 10 assists.
Frostburg returns to the court on Monday, November 5 against Penn State Altoona at 6:00 p.m.
