FROSTBURG, Md. – Senior forward Kirsten Rayner scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, but the Frostburg State women's basketball team shot 31 percent from the floor in an 81-70 loss to Rutgers-Camden Saturday afternoon in the Jim Crawley Tournament Championship Game at Bobcat Arena.
Rayner connected on 5-of-13 field goals and went 8-of-9 at the charity stripe. Nine of her rebounds came on the defensive end, and she also added an assist in 28 minutes.
Frostburg had three other scorers' reach double-figures: senior guard Kache Fields, freshman forward Alexis Welch and sophomore guard Megan Kelly.
Fields scored 12 points, shooting 4-of-12 from the field and 4-of-6 from the foul line. Welch and Kelly each scored 11 points, all of which came in the second half. Rutgers-Camden (2-0) had five players score in double-figures.
