DOVER, Del. – The Frostburg State field hockey team fell in CAC action Sunday to Wesley, 1-0.
The Bobcats fall to 5-7 overall on the season and sit at 0-2 in the CAC, while Wesley improves to 3-11 and 1-1 in the league.
Sophomore Molly Pickard led Frostburg with three shots and forced Wolverine keeper Makenzie McIntyre to save two of them.
Frostburg also registered four-straight shots in the ninth minute as it tried to take an early 1-0 lead. Sophomore Ashleigh Myers took the first shot of the second half for either team just 1:56 into action but it was blocked by the Wesley defense.
In the end, Wesley scored the game's only goal in the 45
th minute when Taylor Timmons found Allison Perugini.
McIntyre finished with seven saves for the Wolverines, while Bobcat keeper Jacqueline Gover notched two in the loss.
Frostburg outshot Wesley 13-8 and had a slight 5-4 edge in penalty corners.
Frostburg returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Mary Washington at 6:00 pm.
