Huntington, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's field hockey team dropped a close non-conference matchup, 2-1, on the road to Juniata Wednesday night.
Juniata (7-8, 2-3 Landmark) opened the scoring just 1:44 into the game when Sarah Alexander knocked home a pass from Brittani LaFollette. Alexander would return the favor just six minutes later when LaFollette was able to slot a shot past Bobcats senior keeper Jacqueline Gover to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Frostburg State (5-11, 0-4 CAC) would answer back in the 35
th minute as junior defender Elizabeth Davis was able to beat the Eagles keeper, Kylie Edwards, on a feed from senior forward Taylor Bowen.
On the night the Eagles outshot the Bobcats, 7-1, with Gover notching three saves.
The Bobcats resume CAC play on Sunday, October 23
rd when they host Christopher Newport for senior day at 11:00 a.m.
