YORK, Pa. – The Frostburg State volleyball team dropped in all three sets, 3-0, against Capital Athletic Conference opponent York (Pa.), Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats (9-16, 1-5 CAC) slipped to the Spartans (20-7, 4-3 CAC) narrowly in each of the three sets, 25-22, 25-22 and 26-24.
Junior Naya Cheatem led the attack with 15 kills, followed by junior Zoe Harris, junior Chelsea Parrinello and freshman Ashante Corey Bey with four each. Freshman Biamba Tshitenge totaled five blocks and junior Madelyn Torres tallied 25 assists.
York led the Bobcats in kills, 35-31, blocks, 14-11, assists, 29-26, while the Bobcats held the advantage in service aces, 6-5. Despite dropping all three sets, the Bobcats played tough and all three sets remained close with York just slipping past FSU to win each set.
FSU will return to the court Wednesday, September 19
th for a match against Mt. Aloysius at 7 pm.
