ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Frostburg State women's field hockey team dropped a close 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference game on the road to St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats fell to 5-5 overall on the season with the loss and to 0-1 in CAC play, while St. Mary's improved to 3-7 overall and 1-0 in CAC play.
Neither side was able to get on the board in the first half but St. Mary's outshot the Bobcats six to three while Jacqueline Gover made two saves.
St. Mary's picked up the lone goal of the game in the 54
th minute when Seahawk senior Carly Todd took a pass off of a penalty corner from Mollie Belson and slotted it behind Gover.
The Seahawks outshot the Bobcats 12-6 on the game and held an 8-7 advantage in penalty corners.
Bobcat's goalie Gover made two saves on 70 minutes of action while Seahawk's keeper Alyssa Thompson also made to saves in 70 minutes of play as well.
The Bobcats women's field hockey team will next be in action when they travel to Washington, Pa. to take on the Washington and Jefferson Presidents on Wednesday Oct. 5 and 7:00 p.m.
