Bobcat Men Capture FSU Tournament Title

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's soccer team used a late goal from freshman Guy Nabo to capture not only a 1-0 win over Bridgewater, but the 2015 FSU Tournament trophy, Sunday afternoon.

Nabo's goal came off a free kick with 33 seconds showing in regulation. From 25 yards out, Nabo drilled the attempt into the top left corner of the net for the game's only goal.

However, the win was harder than it appeared for the Bobcats as they played with just 10 players following a red card 10 minutes into the second half. Bridgewater outshot FSU 15-7, and the Eagles took all five corner kicks on the afternoon.

But in the end, the red card didn't cost the Bobcats the game thanks to Nabo's late heroics and another stellar showing from the defense.

Bobcat keeper Hassan Mostafa came up big again for Frostburg with eight saves, four in each half. The Bobcat defense has now registered three shutouts in their 3-0 start to the season and have registered five-consecutive shutouts in regular-season games dating back to last season.

The Bobcats return to the field this Wednesday with a home contest against Johns Hopkins at 5:00 pm. Fans can follow all of the action through live video and live stats at www.FrostburgSports.com/Live.
