FROSTBURG, Md. – Senior Jackie Best scored her first goal of the season, but the Frostburg State field hockey team dropped a 7-1 decision to McDaniel, Saturday afternoon.
Best scored in the 55th minute off a pass from junior Jacquelyn Nava for the squad's lone goal. Best also led the Bobcats with seven shots on the afternoon.
However, McDaniel led 6-0 at the time of Best's goal and the Green Terror added one more in the waning minutes to seal the 7-1 victory.
Gabrielle Yore posted a hat trick for the Green Terror with two goals coming in the second half. Sarah Bach posted one goal and two assists all in the second half as McDaniel scored five goals in the second frame.
Bobcat junior keeper Jackie Gover notched seven saves in the loss, while reserve keeper stopped three shots in a little under 19 minutes of action in the second stanza.
McDaniel's Christina Gooding earned the win after stopping five shots in 70 minutes of play.
Frostburg State returns to action next Wednesday when it travels to Randolph-Macon for a 4:00 pm game.
