FSU grabbed fifth place out of nine teams behind Romano's stellar race. The freshman covered the 6k course in 27:40 and was the 11th overall finisher. However, because of a non-collegiate runner that earned eighth place, Romano moved up to 10th in the final standings to earn his medal.

Bobcat junior Xavier Alvarez was Frostburg's second finisher as he crossed the line in 29:13. Alvarez earned 38th-place overall and 32nd in the team standings.

Senior Greg Horning and freshman Matthew Whitley each finished in the top-50 for Frostburg. Horning took 42nd overall in 29:32, while Whitley was 47th in 29:54.

Rounding out the top five were seniors Jeremy Brown and Adam Jenkins. Brown captured 55th-place for Frostburg with a time of 30:29, while Jenkins was 63rd in 31:06.
