LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team rolled to its sixth-straight victory with a dominant 19-1 win over St. Andrews, Wednesday evening.
In total, 13 different Bobcats registered at least one point while seven posted a multiple-point effort.
Leading the pack was senior Mallory Brunett who finished the game with five goals and an assist while seniors Jessica Jones and Ellie Garner and sophomore Taylor Mone each posted pair of goals while Garner added an assist for Frostburg. Sophomore Charlotte Hines led the team with five assists.
The Bobcats took a 13-0 lead into halftime and led by as many as 17 before St. Andrews scored. The Knights scored with 14:53 to go in the second but Frostburg rattled off two more to seal the win.
Defensively, the Bobcats were led by Jones with five caused turnovers. Brunett won 11 draw controls for FSU.
Sophomore Dylan Teitelbaum earned her sixth win of the year in net for FSU, needing just three saves in the 60 minutes of action.
The Bobcats (6-2) will travel to Fredericksburg, Va. to take on Mary Washington on Saturday. The opening draw is set for 3:00 pm.
