FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Mary Washington, Tuesday afternoon.
The Bobcats (8-3, 2-1) and the Eagles (9-3, 2-1) both played tough on defense, with UMW only producing seven total shots and FSU with six total shots during the match.
The first half of the game was evenly matched and neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Bobcat defense held Mary Washington to two shots on the half and senior goalkeeper Hassan Mostafa made two saves.
Mary Washington scored its lone goal in the 58
th minute of the second half when Conor Nogueira was able to push through the Bobcat defense and find the back of the net unassisted.
FSU's Mostafa made three saves on the afternoon while UMW's Matt Spencer totaled two saves and walked away with victory.
The Bobcats will return to action when they travel to Christopher Newport Saturday, October 10 for a CAC match at 7:00 pm.
