FROSTBURG, Md. – Kelani Bailey scored midway through the first overtime to lift the visiting Shenandoah Hornets over Frostburg, Wednesday at Bobcat Stadium.
The Frostburg (7-6) defense held tough throughout the contest as SU (8-4) outshot the hosts 22-5 and held a decisive 15-5 lead in penalty corners.
Bobcat keeper Jackie Gover recorded double-digit saves for the third time this season and for the second-straight game in the loss to Shenandoah. She finished with 11 saves and stopped a penalty stroke at 77:10 to keep the game scoreless.
However, 58 seconds later, Presha Merritt found Bailey off a penalty corner for the game-winner.
Bobcat sophomore Ivy Meissner did her part to help send the contest into overtime with her first career defensive save in the 63
rd minute.
FSU seniors Alexandra Darrow and Jackie Best led attack with two shots each.
Shenandoah keeper Jessica Brown finished with four saves, while Alana Meadows added a defensive save.
Frostburg returns to the field this Sunday when it hosts Wesley at 1:00 pm for senior day.
