Bobcats Draw With Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State men's soccer team posted its fifth-straight shutout and seventh of the season as it came away with a 0-0 tie of non-conference opponent, Waynesburg, Tuesday evening.

Box Score

With the tie, the Bobcats move to 6-2-2 on the year while Waynesburg slips to 4-4-3.

Sophomore Hassan Mostafa started in goal for the Bobcats and held off the Yellow Jackets for the first 45 minutes of action, making two saves in the first half. Classmate Jackson Bicknell came in the second half and kept Waynesburg off the scoreboard for the final 65 minutes, needing just one save in his stint in the net.

Freshmen Andrew Jenkins and Owen Marx led the Bobcats with two shots on goal each, but neither could put the ball past Waynesburg goalie, Brandon Daughtry, who had seven saves in 110 minutes.

Both defenses were able to keep the opposing offense off kilter and unable to create a lot of scoring opportunities.

Frostburg looks to continue its shutout streak as the Bobcats travel to Capital Athletic Conference foe, St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday for a 4:00 pm contest.
