ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – A first half goal was all that St. Mary's (Md.) needed to defeat Frostburg State in Capital Athletic Conference men's soccer action, Saturday.
Frostburg (6-3-2, 1-1 CAC) outshot the Seahawks (6-5, 2-0 CAC), 13-12, and held a decisive 7-3 edge in shots on goal. However, Yonah Zeitz found Jackson Ranheim at 36:42 in the first half for the game's only goal.
The Bobcats entered the contest with a 4-0-1 record in their last five games and they hadn't allowed a goal in nearly a month. All three FSU losses this year have come by the count of 1-0.
Sophomore keeper Hassan Mostafa, the reigning CAC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week, made two saves in 90 minutes of action, while St. Mary's keeper Zack Haussler stopped seven shots to keep Frostburg off the scoreboard.
The Bobcats return to action on Tuesday when they host Mary Washington at 5:00 pm.
