FROSTBURG, Md. – Hendrick de Wit kicked off his Frostburg career and the 2014 athletic season in stellar fashion, Friday. The junior knocked home the game-winning goal in the 104
th minute in double overtime to carry the Bobcat men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Juniata

FSU held a narrow edge in shots (11-8) but controlled much of the tempo in the second half and both overtime frames with a possession oriented style of play. Both teams attempted just one shot in the extra time but De Wit came through for the Bobcats with the game-winner at 103:09.
Bobcat keeper Hassan Mostafa saved Chandler Steffen's shot in the second overtime and finished with seven total saves. Mostafa made four saves on five Eagle shots in the first half.
The Bobcats had several chances to find the net in regulation but Juniata keeper Blaine Barsch also finished with seven saves.
Frostburg had its best opportunity in the first half in the 29
th minute when freshman Andrew Jenkins' header sailed just high of the cross bar from 10 yards out. Sophomore Nabayee Tesfu also had two shots saved by Barsch.
Jenkins had another header in the 82
nd minute and freshman Brett Basham flicked a header on goal with just over four minutes to play. However, Barsch stopped both attempts as the contest headed for extra time.
Finally the Bobcats were able to capitalize when de Wit scored from roughly 25 yards out.
