FROSTBURG, Md. – Sophomore Blake Grudzien totaled five points to lead all Frostburg State men's lacrosse players in a 24-4 victory over Southern Virginia, Wednesday.
Box ScoreIn all, 22 players registered at least one point for the Bobcats as they improved to 11-3 overall. The victory over the Knights (0-13) marks the second time this season that Frostburg has scored 24 goals in a game.
Frostburg scored the contest's first five goals and held an 11-2 lead at intermission. After three scores in the third quarter, Frostburg tacked on 10 goals in the final frame.
Grudzien finished the contest with three goals and two assists, while senior Britton Hoover added three goals and one assist. Junior Devin Colegrove scored twice, both in the opening quarter, and handed out the first assist of the second quarter. Junior Chris Rios contributed one goal and two assists.
Frostburg held decisive leads in shots (68-13) and ground balls (53-29) and were a perfect 11-for-11 on clears.
Mike Bangerter led Southern Virginia with two goals, while Nick Wilkey scored once and handed out one assist.
