FROSTBURG, Md. – What started out as a battle of unbeaten teams between Frostburg State and Washington & Jefferson, ended as a lopsided 24-3 victory for the host Bobcats, Wednesday.

Frostburg used an 11-goal second quarter to propel itself to 4-0 on the season. The 24 goals match a pair of 24-goal outings from a year ago and the Bobcats are outscoring their opponents 56-12 this spring.
Senior Ryan Serio scored four goals during the second-quarter scoring bonanza and FSU led 14-3 at the half. The Bobcats tacked on 10 goals in the second half, while limiting the Presidents (3-1) to just two shots in each of the final two quarters.
In all, 16 different Bobcat players registered a point and 15 scored a goal. Serio finished the night with five goals and one assist on a game-high 13 shots. Sophomore Blake Grudzien saw his first action of the season and took advantage of the opportunity with three goals, all in the fourth quarter.
Junior Devin Colegrove was second with four points, behind two goals and two assists. Juniors Chris Rios and Greg Bourne contributed two goals and one assist.
As a team, Frostburg dominated the contest from start to finish. The Bobcats led 69-15 in shots, 67-22 in groundballs, won 28-of-29 faceoffs and were 18-for-22 on clear attempts.
Senior Billy Lark was nearly perfect, winning 19-of-20 faceoffs, while scooping up a career-high 12 groundballs. Senior keeper Tyler Haines needed just four saves for the win.
Zachary Fredericks, Tim Angell and goalkeeper Conor Crowe each added a goal for Washington & Jefferson.
Frostburg will carry its early season momentum into Saturday's contest at seventh-ranked Washington College at 1:00 pm.
