SALISBURY, Md. – After an even first quarter (2-2), No. 3 ranked Salisbury produced a 3-0 second frame that powered the Sea Gulls past the Frostburg State men's lacrosse team in the opener of Capital Athletic Conference play, Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats, who have received votes in the USILA poll in each of the last two weeks, fall to 5-2 on the season. Both FSU losses this spring have come to opponents ranked in the top-10. Salisbury remains undefeated on the season at 7-0.
FSU and SU played to a 2-2 tie following one quarter of action. FSU junior Devin Colegrove put the first score on the board at 11:11 off an assist from senior Ryan Serio. Back-to-back goals from SU at 10:07 and 9:08 gave the hosts a one-goal lead but sophomore Tate Rolland knotted the game with six minutes remaining to go into the second quarter, 2-2.
Salisbury held FSU scoreless in the second frame. Two quick goals from senior Brandon Kendrick gave SU a two-goal cushion for most of the second quarter. The Sea Gulls scored five-straight goals to possess a 7-2 advantage with just two minutes showing in the third quarter.
Serio, the CAC leader in goals with 20, struck at 2:19 to end the Bobcat draught but the Sea Gulls tacked on three more goals over a five-minute span in the fourth. FSU closed out the scoring with back-to-back goals by Serio assisted by junior Chris Rios and Colegrove, but time ran out posting the final score at 10-5.
In the net, senior goalie Tyler Haines tied his career-high of 22 saves while suffering his second loss of the season. SU goalie senior Alex Taylor posted eight saves in the win.
The Bobcats return to action Wednesday, March 19 as they travel to Westminster, Md. FSU takes on non-conference opponent McDaniel at 7:00 pm.
