FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's basketball team produced 29 steals and caused Penn State Harrisburg to commit 40 turnovers en route to a 75-63 win in a fast-paced CAC showdown, Thursday night.

Set in a trapping, full-court press for a majority of the game, the Bobcats (5-13, 3-9 CAC) put the pressure on Penn State Harrisburg (5-15, 1-11 CAC) causing 19 turnovers and posting 15 steals in the first half. The game saw a total of 50 fouls and 65 foul shots.
The Lions began the game strong, scoring the game's first eight points, 8-0 at 16:36. The Bobcats answered back with an 11-2 run to gain their first lead of the game 11-10 at 13:12. The first half remained close, as the game was tied on two separate occasions.
The game was tied with 6:56 showing, 21-21 before the freshman Kayla Love hit a jumper followed by a three-pointer. The Bobcats continued their 13-4 run to grab the highest lead of the first half, 34-25 with just 2:25 left to play and managed to hold a nine-point lead heading into halftime.
FSU held the reigns in the second half, keeping its lead at or above double-figures for much of the stanza. The Lions were able to pull their deficit to eight four different times but weren't able to close the gap. The Bobcats largest lead of the second half was 17 points but they finished with a 12-point advantage, 75-63.
Hummel scored a game-high 26 points including a 14-for-17 performance from the free throw line. She added a team-high eight rebounds, eight steals and four assists to her stellar evening. Junior Ronje' James hit 22 points and had a good night from the stripe as well, tallying 10-for-13 from the line while posting six rebounds and five assists.
PSH was paced by two Lions who both recorded double-doubles. Lucky Snypse scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Rachel Moyer contributed 12 points and 16 rebounds.
The Bobcats are back in action this Saturday (Feb. 8) as they host CAC opponent St. Mary's (Md.) at 1:00 pm.
