FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's basketball team's season came to a close as it fell to Salisbury by a score of 88-66, Saturday.

The Bobcats (3-22, 2-15 CAC) got off to a strong start to the game, led by senior Aaron Bellamy. Bellamy scored 10 of the team's first 19 points, pushing FSU's early advantage to 19-10 at 13:34 remaining in the opening frame.Â
Following a good bucket from the Sea Gulls (14-11, 9-7 CAC), junior James Peters knocked down a three-pointer for the Bobcats to extend the lead to 10 points, 22-12. SU then went on an 11-0 run that was capped by two made free throws from junior Conor Strickland, which gave Salisbury a 23-22 edge with 8:19 remaining.
The remainder of the first half included four lead changes and two ties, but after being tied at 27 at 4:55 the Sea Gulls closed the half on a 9-4 run to take a five-point edge over FSU into the break, 36-31.
The Bobcats dug an early hole in the second stanza as SU quickly came out of the gates by outscoring FSU 12-2 in the opening 2:31, to push the advantage to 15 points at 48-33.
Freshman Justin Witmer knocked down a three at 13:15 to give Salisbury a 59-41 lead. In the next 3:08, Frostburg was able to cut the lead to 11 off of a 9-2 streak, which was started with a three-pointer from Peters and finished with a layup from Bellamy to make the score 61-50.
Peters made another three at 7:12 to bring the Bobcats deficit to 11 points again, 69-58. Frostburg wouldn't get any closer as Salisbury closed the game out on a 19-8 run and extended the lead twice to 24 points, with the final score being 88-66.
Three Bobcats starters finished with double-figures, led by Peters with 18, and followed by Bellamy with a season-high 17 and sophomore Nick Smoot with 12. Bellamy also led FSU with seven boards.
Witmer poured in a game-high 25 points for the Sea Gulls, while senior Dominic Milburn added 11 points and Strickland finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
