BUENA VISTA, Va. – Senior Elaina Hummel and junior Ronje' James each poured in a game-high 22 points to lead Frostburg State to a 75-71 win over Southern Virginia, Wednesday.

The duo not only accounted for 44 points, but rallied the Bobcats to the win with clutch free throw shooting down the stretch. Trailing by two, 71-69, with 1:01 remaining, both Hummel and James finished 3-for-4 at the line to lift Frostburg.
James hit her first foul shot with 53 seconds remaining to bring the Bobcat deficit to 71-70. Hummel then hit two free throws nine seconds later that gave FSU a 72-71 lead. Following a turnover on the Knights, James hit another pair of foul shots with 19 seconds left and Hummel iced the 75-71 win with the game's final foul shot with just six seconds left.
The game featured 14 ties and 17 lead changes in all. However, the Bobcats pulled out the victory behind a 23-of-30 effort at the foul line and turned 28 Southern Virginia turnovers into 35 points.
The win is the fourth in the last five contests for Frostburg (7-14) as it finished with three players in double figures. Hummel finished 14-of-17 at the foul line, while James made 8-of-15 baskets from the field and was nearly perfect at the line (6-of-7). Junior Simone Wise contributed 11 points.
Southern Virginia (3-18) finished with four players in double figures as Crystal Cleveland and Shannon Romito each scored 15. Cleveland also posted a game-high 11 boards. Melynda Boren added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Knights led by as many as seven points in opening half, but Frostburg tied the game eight times in the second stanza and held the lead on six occasions.
Frostburg returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Marymount at 2:00 pm.
