FROSTBURG, MD. – First-ranked Salisbury scored three first-half goals en route to a 5-0 shutout win over Frostburg State, Saturday.
Karen Cindea and Abbey Shobe each scored two goals as the Sea Gulls improved to 10-1 overall and 1-0 in the Capital Athletic Conference.
Courtney Jantzen added one goal and two assists as SU outshot FSU, 35-6, including 19-2 in the opening stanza.
Bobcat sophomore keeper Jacqueline Gover made career-high 19 saves in 70 minutes of action. Juniors Jackie Best and Alexandra Darrow led Frostburg (5-8, 0-2) with two shots each.
Salisbury's Rachel Clewer played 46:30 and stopped one shot for the win. Tressie Windsor played the final 23:30 in net and made four saves as the Bobcats tried to narrow the gap late in the second half.
Frostburg returns to the field on Tuesday when it hosts Mary Washington at 7:00 pm
