FREDERISCKSBURG, Va. – Twelfth-ranked Mary Washington jumped out to an early lead and never let up in downing visiting Frostburg State University, 87-59, Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (2-16, 1-9 CAC) pulled to within three points, 9-6 and 14-11, but UMW (16-2, 9-1) led by as many 16 points, 35-19, in the opening half before carrying a 37-24 lead into halftime.
Senior Aaron Bellamy drilled a three-pointer with 16:11 left in the second half that drew Frostburg to within 10 points for the second time at 44-34. Over the next five minutes, UMW extended its lead to 61-41 and later held a 71-50 advantage with 8:10 to play.
Mary Washington pushed its lead to a game-high 28 points inside the final minute.
Despite the loss, Frostburg State finished with three players in double-figures. Junior Jabari Kamau scored 16 points and led the Bobcats in scoring for the eighth game this season. Sophomore Kurt Gangler scored 11 points, while junior Tyler Campbell contributed 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Mary Washington was led in scoring by Bradley Riester with 31 points, behind seven three-pointers. Dajon Daniel added 20 and Taylor Johnson finished with 18. UMW as a team made 13 three-pointers and won for the fifth-straight game.
