FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State women's basketball team endured a late first-half surge and Marymount used that momentum to roll to a 93-62 victory in Capital Athletic Conference action, Saturday afternoon.

The Saints (8-5, 4-1 CAC) maintained a lead throughout the game, but the Bobcats (2-9, 1-5) hung tough and kept the deficit to single-digits until late in the first half.
The Bobcats surrendered a nine-point gap twice in the first half, but battled to keep the game within just a few possessions. At 4:31, Frostburg managed to cut the visitor's lead to just four, 29-25 as junior guard Ronje' James completed a fast break.
Marymount answered back, netting four-straight shots and entered halftime on the upside of a 14-1 run, 42-26. First half shooting led to the downfall of the Bobcats, as they shot 29% (9-for-31) from the field to the Saints 57.1% (16-for-28).
The Saints kept the Bobcats at bay in the second half, refusing to relinquish its double-digit lead as the final score read 93-62. Marymount found strength in their outside game, shooting a solid 50% behind a 7-for-14 effort from long range.
James came off the bench to lead the Bobcats in scoring with 19 points. Sophomore forward Courtney Young poured in a career-high 16 points, paired with a team-high eight rebounds. Senior guard Elaina Hummel also reached double digits with 15, while contributing four assists and three rebounds.
The Saints were led by sophomore guard Kievanna Lacey who turned in a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds. Senior guard Katelyn Fischer netted a game-high 27 points, along with eight assists.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday as they host Southern Virginia at 6:00 pm.
