The shutout win over Bethany (0-3) pushes Frostburg to 3-0 on the season with all three victories coming via shutout. FSU has yet to allow a goal in three games this season on defense, while the offense is outshooting its opponents 64-33.

It didn't take long for Frostburg to get on the board Wednesday night.

Senior Jared Fohs attempted the game's first shot, a hard liner from outside the 18-yard box. Bison keeper Callum Appleby made a diving save, but he was unable to control the rebound and Bobcat senior Pablo Torrano was in perfect position for the rebound as he buried his shot in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Frostburg, which held a 24-11 advantage in shots, didn't strike again until the 66th minute. Herbert handed the Bobcats a little insurance when he collected a Torrano missed shot, and slipped an attempt past the keeper for a 2-0 lead and some breathing room.

With less than two minutes left in regulation, Akinfeleye put the game out of reach as he beat Appleby and scored from a difficult angle near the end line for the 3-0 final.

In the losing effort, Appleby finished with 13 saves, including seven in the second half. Bobcat starting keeper Drew Hock needed just three saves for his second win this season.

Frostburg returns to action this Saturday with a road contest at McDaniel at 4:30 pm.
