Men’s Cross Country Finishes 16th/17th at Dickinson Long Short Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. – Senior Pat Mead and freshman Stanton Highman were the top finishers for Frostburg State men's cross country team as it competed at the Dickinson Long Short Course Invitational, Saturday.

In the long course race that covered 8,000 meters, Mead captured 66th place at 28:19.8 to be FSU's top finisher. Bobcat freshman Brandon Redmond was second and 112th overall with a time of 29:34.9.

A pair of sophomores took third and fourth on the team in the long course race. Daniil Repchenko crossed in 124th place (29:53.1), while Jeremy Brown was 131st (30:05.3). Freshman Jeffrey Frost was the squad's fifth finisher in 139th place at 30:54.8.

Highman powered the men's squad through the short course that totaled 4,000-meters. He took 70th place overall with a time of 13:56.1. Finishing second and 106th overall was sophomore Adam Jenkins in 14:59.8, while freshman Xavier Alvarez earned third (113th) with a time of 15:11.2.

As a team, FSU captured 16th out of 19 teams competing in the long course race and 17th out of 20 teams running in the short course race. In the combined results, the Bobcats took 12th of 13 teams.

FSU returns to action on Saturday, October 12 at the Slippery Rock University Invitational.
