BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Frostburg State volleyball team fell to Lebanon Valley in their first match at the Bridgewater Quad by a score of 3-1, Friday night.
The Bobcats (2-10) were defeated by the Dutchmen (10-2) in four sets by scores of 25-15, 25-13, 22-25, 25-19.
Frostburg got off to a slow start in the first two sets, but was able to regroup to take the third set from Lebanon Valley and give them a fight in the fourth. Frostburg State combined for 27 kills, 41 digs, and 17 blocks in the losing effort.Â
On the offensive side the Bobcats were led by sophomore Amy Petrides with 10 kills. Junior Morgan Hoover paced the team with four aces, while sophomore Caitlyn Collins led FSU with 25 assists on the night.
Defensively, senior Jamie Frank grabbed 10 digs to top the Bobcats, but was followed closely by Collins who chipped in nine of her own. The Frostburg block leaders for the night were Collins and Hoover, who each had five.
The Bobcats get right back into action tomorrow when they play a pair against Neumann and Bridgewater at 2 and 4 pm at Bridgewater College.
