FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men’s lacrosse team capped the regular season with three-straight conference wins and has been awarded the fourth seed in the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Bobcats (11-5) will host fifth-seeded Mary Washington (8-6) this Wednesday, April 24, in the tournament’s first round. FSU defeated UMW, 13-11, last week and the Bobcats will be making their first appearance in the CAC Tournament since the program was moved to varsity status prior to the 2011 season.
In the other first round contest, third-seeded St. Mary’s (9-6) will host sixth-seeded Wesley (5-8) on Wednesday. SMCM defeated the Wolverines, 12-5, in the regular-season meeting.
Fifth ranked and top seeded Salisbury (13-4) awaits the winner of UMW/FSU in the semifinals on Saturday, April 27. Second-seeded York (13-3) will host the winner of Wesley/St. Mary’s in the other semifinal game.
The tournament championship is slated for Saturday, May 4, at the highest remaining seed. The winner will receive the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
