YORK, Pa. – Frostburg State fell behind 6-1 after the first quarter of play and never recovered as York (Pa.) captured an 11-4 victory in CAC men’s lacrosse action, Wednesday afternoon.

Bobcat sophomore Spencer Barnett answered an early York goal with a tally of his own at 8:24 that tied the game at 1-1.
The Spartans (11-3, 3-1) then rattled off the game’s next six goals for a 7-1 lead with 4:26 left in the first half.
Sophomore Greg Bourne ended the YCP run with an unassisted goal with 3:03 left in the second quarter and junior Billy Lark found freshman Spenser Love for the final score of the first half as the Bobcats (8-5, 0-3) trailed 8-3 at intermission.
Tyler Hutson scored back-to-back goals to open the second half for York as it increased its lead to 10-3 early in the fourth quarter.
Junior Lucas Flaig scored off a feed from freshman Nick Stailey for Frostburg’s final goal with 8:06 to play in the fourth as it was able to trim the deficit to 10-4.
York’s James Lowe scored the contest’s final goal with 5:59 to play as the hosts earned their third-straight win in conference action.
Bobcat junior keeper Tyler Haines stopped nine shots in the loss, while Lark won 9-of-17 (52.9%) faceoffs and picked up a team-best six ground balls.
FSU outshot York 36-4, including an 18-4 advantage in the fourth quarter. The Bobcats won 10-of-19 faceoffs and were 15-of-18 on clear attempts.
Hutson led all players with three goals and one assist to power York offensively. Caleb Abney made 17 saves in goal, including 14 in the second half.
The Bobcats are back in action this Saturday (March 13) with a road game at Marymount at 1:00 pm.
