FROSTBURG, Md – The Frostburg State men's and women's swimming teams completed their first home meet Saturday, collectively winning 15 of 22 events in a 112-89 victory for the men and a 109-95 win on the women's side.

The men's team led the meet from start to finish, stealing first place in the opening event, 200-meter medley relay. Senior Jesse Gregory, sophomore Jonathan Shepard, freshman Aleksander Combs, and senior Vince Faiella finished above the Bison in 2:06.12.
Once the meet was underway the Bobcat men rattled off four wins in a row for an additional 36 points, and finished off with three consecutive first-place finishes.
Faiella went on to claim first in the 200-meter freestyle (2:29.83) with a 49-second lead over the field. Later on in the afternoon, Shepard added another win with an impressive performance in the 200-meter IM (2:34.96).
The women's team started out strong with a win in the 200-meter medley relay (2:31.63), and then proceeded to dominate four of eight individual events.
Junior Kaitlyn Donch led her opponents in the 800-meter freestyle (10:37.49) successfully tagging the wall first for the win.
Later in the meet junior Elizabeth Jarrell went on to finish first in the 50-meter freestyle (30:96), then won her second individual event in a thrilling fight for first in the 100-meter freestyle (1:12.37).
Classmates Meredith Johnson (junior) and Sara King (junior) also walked away with a win today. Johnson took first in the 100-meter backstroke, finishing in 1:21.93, and King wrapped up the 400-meter freestyle in 5:25.18.
The FSU Bobcats are back in the water at Salisbury next Saturday, October 26
