FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State shot 51.5 percent from the field in the first half and never allowed York (Pa.) to get into a rhythm as the Bobcats defeated the Spartans 70-47, Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (7-10, 2-3 CAC) poured in shot after shot in the opening minutes and closed out the half on a 23-2 run over the final 8:52 for a commanding 39-12 lead at the break.
Meanwhile, the Spartans (6-10, 2-3 CAC) made just five baskets in the first stanza and shot 25.0 percent from the field. York (Pa.) showed more life early in the second half, but it could only cut the deficit to 19 points on three occasions.
Just moments later, Frostburg collected a quick 9-2 jolt as it pushed its lead to a game-high 28 points, 61-33. York closed out the game with the final five points as it cut the final deficit to 70-47.
Three of five Bobcat starters scored in double figures, led by senior Christian Jackson with 17 points. Sophomore Jabari Kamau returned to the lineup after missing the last five games and made his first start of the year. He took full advantage of the opportunity with 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
York (Pa.) had a pair of players score 13 points as Mike Mathews and Julian Watson were the only two Spartans in double figures.
FSU returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Marymount at 4:00 pm.
