HIRAM, Pa. – Frostburg State lost a pair of matches to Carnegie Mellon and Capital on the second and final day of the Hiram College Volleyball Tournament, Saturday.
FSU (0-8) dropped the first set of the day to Capital 3-0 behind scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-12. In the second match, Frostburg fell to Carnegie Mellon, 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-15).
Sophomore Andrea Armstrong led the team offensively with 18 kills, nine in each match. She also contributed 12 digs and was awarded all-tournament honors.
Classmate Morgan Hoover chipped in 13 kills, while junior Victoria Veirs added seven kills, including six against Carnegie Mellon.
Senior Chelsea McCloskey passed out 11 assists in each match, while sophomore Kass Greis handed out a combined 16 assists.
Sophomore Maddie White led the way with 24 digs followed by sophomore Jamie Frank with eight and McCloskey with nine.
FSU jumps into Capital Athletic Conference action this Wednesday when it travels to Mary Washington at 7:00 pm.
