HIRAM, Pa. – The Frostburg State volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the opening day of the Hiram College Volleyball Tournament, Friday.

The Bobcats (0-6) fell to host Hiram in the first match of the afternoon. The Terriers earned a 3-0 shutout victory behind scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-17.

In the second match of the day, FSU lost to Geneva 3-1. The Golden Tornadoes captured the first two sets by the score of 25-12. The Bobcats rebounded in the third game to draw within one behind a close 26-24. Geneva closed out the set with a 25-7 win.

Sophomore Morgan Hoover and freshman Caitlyn Droz each smacked 10 kills, while Hoover contributed four blocks. Senior Chelsea McCloskey handed out 22 assists while sophomore Jamie Frank had 22 digs.

Frostburg will face Capital tomorrow on the second day of the tournament at 11:00 am.
