FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State volleyball team dropped its conference opener to Mary Washington, Wednesday afternoon. The Bobcats fell 3-0 in Capital Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

After falling 25-19 in the opening set, the Bobcats held the advantage in the beginning of the second set but the Eagles rallied to win 25-22. UMW led throughout the final set and put the match away with a 25-14 win.
Sophomore Andrea Armstrong led the Bobcats with four kills and chipped in nine digs. Classmate Maddie White led with 11 digs while Kass Greis posted nine assists in the match. Freshman Caitlin Droz posted three service aces.
The Bobcats return to action when they travel to the Allegheny Tournament this weekend to face Thiel on Sept. 14 and Case Western Reserve on Sept. 15.
