SALISBURY, Md. – The Frostburg State men’s lacrosse team was defeated 21-2 by No. 1 ranked Salisbury in a Capital Athletic Conference showdown, Saturday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls (9-0, 2-0) limited the Bobcats (2-8, 0-2) to just one goal in each half while the hosts raced out to a 17-1 halftime lead.
The nation’s top ranked team opened up a 3-0 lead before the Bobcats got on the board. FSU senior Dan Dowd scored off a pass from sophomore Andy Luhmann less than five minutes into action.
SU closed out the opening quarter with four more goals for a 7-1 lead. Salisbury continued its offensive output into the second quarter with 10 more goals for a 16-goal lead at intermission.
Salisbury added two goals in each of the final two quarters, while freshman Spencer Barnett scored an unassisted goal early in the fourth for FSU.
Twelve different players scored for the Sea Gulls as Matt Cannone led the way with four goals and two assists. Sam Bradman added four goals off the bench. Salisbury outshot the Bobcats 51-23 and won 21-of-27 face-offs.
Sophomore Hunter Marshall was credited with five face-off wins for the Bobcats while freshman Alex Sharrer stopped 10 shots in net.
The Bobcats remain in CAC play when they travel to Hood for a 4:00 pm game on Tuesday.
