FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State University men’s basketball team has earned the fifth seed in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference Tournament and will travel to fourth seed York (Pa.) for the opening round.

The fifth seed Bobcats enter the tournament with a 13-12 overall record and a 10-6 CAC mark. FSU will travel to No. 4 seed York (Pa.), which finished the regular season 15-10 overall and 10-6 in the league, on Tuesday night for a 7:00 pm tipoff.

The Bobcats and Spartans split their regular season series with each team winning at their own arena. FSU captured an 82-73 win over YCP at Bobcat Arena in December, while York won 81-73 in late January.

The other first round matchup features No. 6 seed Hood (15-10, 7-9) at No. 3 seed Wesley (12-13, 7-9).

Two-time defending league champion St. Mary’s (19-6, 13-3) earned the top seed while Mary Washington (17-8, 12-4) has earned the second seed. Both teams earned a first round bye and will begin competition on Thursday.

St. Mary’s will take on the winner of FSU/YCP while Mary Washington will host the winner of Hood/Wesley.

The second round is set for Thursday evening while the CAC Championship game is set for Saturday, February 25, at 2:00 pm. The contest will be played at the highest remaining seed.

The champion will earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
