FROSTBURG, Md. - Seven different players had a kill for the Frostburg State volleyball team as it grabbed its second Capital Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout of Marymount, Wednesday.
Senior Kylie Carrington inched closer to the school's all-time assists mark as she handed out 32 for the match and now needs just six more assists to capture the career mark. Carrington also added six kills and six digs to help the Bobcats to a 10-8 overall record and a 2-0 league mark.
Despite nine hitting errors in the first set, FSU squeaked by for a 25-22 win. The Bobcats rebounded to hit .346 and .357 in the final two sets to earn 25-18 and 25-20 wins.
Freshman Nicole Absher led the attack with 14 kills and a .310 hitting percentage. Classmate Morgan Hoover finished with six kills (.462) while senior Sabrina Winterling added four (.375). Senior Amber Winterling and freshman Maddie White combined for 35 digs. White had a match-high 18 while Sabrina totaled 17.
Frostburg hits the road this weekend for the F&M Scramble. The Bobcats open the weekend with Marywood this Friday night at 7:00 pm.
