Frostburg, Md. -The Frostburg State University men’s soccer team stayed unbeaten and opened Capital Athletic Conference play with a dominating, 3-1, victory over the St. Mary’s Seahawks this evening at Bobcat Stadium.

Both teams’ defenses were dominant in the first thirty minutes of play Saturday evening until Damian Ramos scored on an assist from Shawn Baker. The Bobcats (4-0-1) would take their 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the 55th minute, Ryan Russell’s corner kick was batted around before Scott Wasser corralled it at the top of the box and blasted home a goal that bounced off the post and into the back of the net for a 2-0 Bobcat lead.
St. Mary’s (4-2) would finally get on the scoreboard in the 85th minute on a goal by Aaron Lewis.
Ryan Russell ended any hope of a Seahawk rally as he iced the game with 22 seconds left. It was Russell’s second straight game with a goal.
Abiye Jack made four saves to earn the victory for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday night at Penn State Altoona.
