WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Frostburg State University men's lacrosse team capped its spring season on a satisfying note with a 12-6 victory over Washington & Jefferson, Wednesday.

The Bobcats cap their year with back-to-back wins and finish with a 6-11 overall record.
Junior
Dan Dowd (Friendship, Md./Southern) and freshman
Ryan Serio (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) led the way offensively, accounting for nine points.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 5-0 lead just prior to the midway point of the second quarter. Five different players scored during the run, including the game's opener from Dowd at 9:37 in the first.
Dowd later collected a three-goal run of his own as he scored the final goal of the first half and the first two of the second as FSU moved out to an 8-1 lead.
The Presidents (5-9) narrowed the deficit with a 3-0 run of their own and trailed 8-4 early in the fourth quarter.
However, freshmen
Phil Hess (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and
Zach Kowatch (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) scored goals within 13 seconds of one another to regain the lead and momentum for FSU at 10-4 with 11:21 to play in the final stanza.
Serio scored two more goals for the Bobcats and Washington & Jefferson added two of its own goals, but could not bring the final deficit within six.
Frostburg attempted a season-high 45 shots and scooped up 40 ground balls. Individually, freshman
Billy Lark (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) won 12-of-16 faceoffs while FSU as a team won 14-of-22. Dowd finished with four goals while Serio scored three times and handed out two assists. Freshman keeper
Tyler Haines (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) needed just nine saves for his fifth win of the season.
