ARLINGTON, Va. - The Frostburg State University men's basketball team used a quick 7-0 spurt late in the second half to hold off Marymount for an 81-73 victory in the Capital Athletic Conference opener for both schools, Wednesday evening.

The Bobcats never trailed in the contest while pushing their overall record to 2-3. The Saints fall to 2-4 on the season with their fourth-straight loss.
Frostburg held double-digit leads in both halves, including an 11-point lead, 56-45, with 11:52 left in the second. Marymount slowly chipped away at the deficit and Reed Scott hit a jumper at 8:15 as MU trailed by just three, 60-57.
Senior Troy Dockett drained back-to-back three-pointers over a two-minute span to help FSU rebound for a seven-point cushion, 66-59. The Saints made one final push when Mac Kennedy hit a layup and was fouled with 4:57 left that cut the score to 66-62.
However, he missed the free throw and FSU used a quick 7-0 spurt that covered a little over 1:15 as they surged back to a double-digit lead, 73-62. Junior DeSean Antoine hit a timely three-pointer that started the run at 4:31.
Dockett and Antoine each hit a three-pointer in the closing minutes to keep the Saints from making a late charge and hand the Bobcats the eight-point win.
Five players scored in double figures to help Frostburg overcome 52.2 percent shooting from Marymount. Dockett led all players with a career-high 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting (61.1%). He also made a game-high three 3-PT's.
Senior Maurice Williams added a season-high 22 points, including 14 in the opening half, while freshman David Patrick scored all 10 of his points in the opening stanza. Together the duo scored 24 points in the first to lead the Bobcats to a 39-31 lead at intermission.
Antoine and senior Bradley Nunn rounded out the five in double figures with 11 points each.
Marymount was led by Jesse Konadu with 19 points off the bench. Antonio Rouse led the five starters with 16 points behind 10-of-13 free throws.
Frostburg stays in CAC action this weekend as it travels back to the state of Virginia to battle Mary Washington on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
