FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State volleyball team rallied for a 3-1 win over St. Mary's on an emotional senior day, Saturday. Seniors Kylie Carrington and sisters Sabrina and Amber Winterling were honored prior to the opening serve of FSU's final regular-season match at home this season.
The trio did not disappoint helping the Bobcats to a 15-16 overall record and a 5-2 league mark. St. Mary's fell to 6-16 overall and 2-4 in the CAC.
Carrington handed out 43 assists, posted 15 digs and four kills while Sabrina smacked 14 kills, hit .354 and registered 11 digs.
FSU dropped the first set 25-21, but rebounded for a 26-24 win in the second game. It was smooth sailing after that as Frostburg finished off the Seahawks, 25-18 and 25-22.
Freshman Nicole Absher led the way with a team-high 17 kills and a .466 hitting percentage. Classmate Maddie White finished with 29 digs to lead five players in double figures. Junior Chelsea McCloskey and sophomore Jessica Hair each posted 17 digs.
Frostburg jumps out of conference play with a road game at Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
