OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Frostburg State men's basketball sophomore
DeSean Antoine (Odenton, Md./Glen Burnie) made the most of his second career start by tying a school record with seven three-pointers while helping the Bobcats to an 81-77 victory over Stevenson, Saturday. It wasn't easy as FSU had to hold off a late charge to earn its third win over the Mustangs this season.

The Bobcats (8-12, 3-8) led by as many as 13 points in the second half and were up 10, 75-65, with 2:04 to go. However, the Mustangs (5-14, 1-9) hit back-to-back three-pointers and trailed by just five points with one minute remaining. Stevenson then hit two free throws and was down by just three points with 48 seconds showing. FSU hit a layup and four free throws inside the final 30 seconds to hold off the Mustangs.
Antoine finished 7-of-11 from beyond the arc (63.6%) and scored 31 points, the most by any Bobcat player this season. He wasted little time catching fire as he scored 20 points and was 6-of-7 from three-point range in the first half.
Not to be overshadowed, junior
Maurice Williams (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington Central) turned in his second-straight stellar output. After scoring 30 points on Thursday, the previous team high this season, he scored 28 points and made a game-high 10 baskets.
Together, Antoine and Williams combined for 59 points, 19 baskets, eight three-pointers, 13 free throws and 14 rebounds.
Senior
Ellis Hartridge, Jr. (Washington, D.C./Anacostia) was the third player in double figures with 10 points and classmate
Mhabhushah Koffa (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) led all players with 12 rebounds.
Stevenson captured the game's first points and led by as many as six until FSU rebounded for its first lead with 8:41 left. Williams hit a layup at 9:17 to tie the contest at 18-18 and Antoine handed the Bobcats their first lead, 21-18, with his third three-pointer of the opening half.
Stevenson battled back to tie the contest at 34-34 with 1:50 remaining in the opening half, but the Bobcats answered with nine-consectuive points behind two three-pointers from Antoine and one from Williams for a 43-34 lead. The Mustangs hit two free throws and FSU led by seven, 43-36, at the break.
FSU finished the contest at 54.2 percent shooting (26-of-48) and outrebounded the hosts, 39-29. Stevenson, despite shooting just 36.7 percent from the field (22-of-60), made 11 three-poiners, including seven in the second half to give the Bobcats trouble in the closing minutes of play.
Frostburg State looks to make it two-straight wins when it hosts Hood on Wednesday at 8:00 pm.
